The pet aisle at the grocery store is full of products with pot leaves on the bottle. But many contain zero CBD.

The #1 Scam: "Hemp Seed Oil"

Some brands label their product "Hemp Oil" or "Hemp Drops" and charge $40 for it.

  • Check the Ingredients: If it only says "Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil", you are buying expensive salad dressing. It has Omega fatty acids, but no CBD.

What to Look For

You want to see one of these terms in the active ingredients:

  • Full Spectrum Hemp Extract
  • Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract
  • Cannabidiol (CBD)

Check the Milligrams (mg)

Look for the amount of CBD per serving, not just the whole bottle.

  • A "5000mg" bottle (of hemp oil) might have 0mg of CBD.
  • A "500mg" bottle (of CBD extract) has 500mg of active medicine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is "phytocannabinoid-rich" the same thing?

Usually, yes. This is a fancy marketing term for hemp extract rich in CBD.

Should I buy organic?

Yes. Hemp is a bio-accumulator (it sucks toxins from the soil). You don't want your dog eating concentrated pesticides.
